Abandoned quests can disappear from a game or quest log for a few reasons. One common reason is that the game may have a limit on the number of active quests a player can have at one time, so when a new quest is accepted, an abandoned quest may be automatically removed to make room for the new one. Additionally, some games may have a system in place where abandoned quests are automatically removed after a certain period of time to keep the quest log from becoming cluttered. Finally, if a player abandons a quest and then logs out of the game, the quest may disappear upon logging back in as part of a clean-up process. **
